The vestry is the legal representative of the parish with regard to all matters pertaining to its corporate property. Vestry members are elected at the annual parish meeting. The presiding officer of the vestry is the rector. There are usually two wardens. The senior warden leads the parish between rectors and is a support person for the rector.
128th Annual Council of the Diocese of Southern Virginia will be held at the Wlilliamsburg Lodge Convention Center, on February 28-29, 2020. The Very Rev. Cynthia Briggs Kittredge, ThD, is our keynote speaker for this year's Council.

Episcopal Church Women (ECW) and the Patterson-Ransom Men’s club hosted its third annual children holiday party on December 28, 2018 at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church on Halifax Street. More than twenty (20) children with their parents attended the fun-filled afternoon event.
